What goes into the price.
A handcrafted textile is not priced like a mass-produced garment. Material, craft, finishing and skilled labour all remain visible in the final cost.
We want you to know what you are paying for before you buy.
There is no single percentage formula for every SSEthnics by Sangisathi product. A hand-embroidered kurti, an Ajrakh fabric sold by the metre and a custom-stitched garment have different materials, processes and labour requirements.
Our prices reflect those differences. We do not flatten every craft into one generic “premium” label.
The cost components

Base textile
Fibre, weave, fabric width, weight and the quantity required for the product.
Craft process
Printing, dyeing, weaving, embroidery or surface work—and the time and skill each process requires.
Finishing and checks
Washing, finishing, inspection, measurement and preparation before the piece is listed or dispatched.
Custom stitching
Pattern preparation, cutting, tailoring, lining where selected, measurement review and finishing.
Business operations
Photography, cataloguing, packaging, payment fees, storage, customer assistance and fulfilment.
A sustainable margin
The margin that lets us restock responsibly, support the team and keep specialist craft commercially viable.
Why prices differ
Similar-looking products can carry different costs.
- Hand work is priced differently from machine work.
- Natural dyes and multi-stage printing require more processing.
- Silk, wool, cotton and blended bases carry different material costs.
- Motif density, borders, lining and stitching complexity affect labour.
- Small production runs cannot use mass-production economics.
